"A Beautiful Lie" is a heartwarming musical set in the 1970s, featuring a father-daughter road trip narrative. The story follows Tammy Jackson and her father, Zachariah "Zack" Jones, on their cross-country journey, enriched with memorable musical numbers and a blend of humor and emotion. Starring Tommy Hobson ("That Girl Lay Lay") and Sabrina Sloan ("Hamilton"), alongside Monica Evans as Tammy, the musical showcases an all-Black cast. It celebrates familial bonds and the resilience of dreams against the backdrop of America's Bicentennial celebrations. This Presentation of a Work in Progress premiered on September 10th, 2023 in The Debbie Reynolds MainStage at El Portal Theatre.
