On Sunday, December 8th, 2024, the Kennedy Center hosted the 47th annual Kennedy Center Honors, celebrating five legendary figures for their lifetime contributions to American culture through the performing arts. This year’s Honorees were visionary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola, iconic rock band the Grateful Dead, Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Bonnie Raitt, jazz legend Arturo Sandoval, and the historic cultural landmark The Apollo. Held each December at the Kennedy Center Opera House in Washington, D.C., the Honors remain one of the nation’s most prestigious artistic recognitions.
